HYDRANGEA MACROPHYLLA (aka french or bigleaf) - deciduous shrub with rounded growth habit. Mophead blooms. Produces flowers on old wood, except as noted. Prune immediately after blooms are spent (pruning any later will cause the plant not to bloom the next year). Color is usually affected by the ph. White flowers are not affected by ph. Amend your soil with aluminum sulfate for blue blooms and lime for pink blooms. Plant in part shade to shade (will take morning sun and afternoon shade). Drought tolerant once established.

LIMELIGHT - creamy white flowers mature to chartreuse-lime green to pink to dark rose before fading to beige. Blooms mid-summer to fall. Deadhead for repeat blooms. 6-8’ tall at maturity.- good fall color

OAKLEAF - scarlet or crimson in fall. Elongated flowers in spring that change to pinkish- purple as they age. Part shade - will tolerate some morning sun
