Hydrangeas for Sale

 

HYDRANGEA MACROPHYLLA (aka french or bigleaf) - deciduous shrub with rounded growth habit.   Mophead blooms.  Produces flowers on old wood, except as noted.  Prune immediately after blooms are spent (pruning any later will cause the plant not to bloom the next year).  Color is usually affected by the ph.  White flowers are not affected by ph.  Amend your soil with aluminum sulfate for blue blooms and lime for pink blooms.  Plant in part shade to shade (will take morning sun and afternoon shade).  Drought tolerant once established.

 

BLUSHING BRIDE - 4-8” wide white blooms with a touch of pink or blue.  3-6’ tall and wide.

 

CHARM - very large pink flowers.  Compact grower with dark green leaves.  4-5’ tall and wide at maturity.

 

ENDLESS SUMMER -  pink or blue blooms depending on ph.  Blooms on new wood, repeat bloomer, blooms 3-4 times per year (deadhead spent blooms to encourage new blooms).  Grows 3-5’ tall and wide.

 

GLORY BLUE - fast growing.  5-7’ at maturity.

 

GLOWING EMBERS - dark pink to red flowers in large rounded 8” wide clusters.  3-4’ tall and wide at maturity.

 

MERRITT’S SUPREME - dark pink very showy flowers. 5’ tall and wide at maturity.

 

MINI PENNY - repeat bloomer, deadhead spent blooms to encourage new blooms.  Blue or pink blooms depending on ph. Mildew resistant. 4-5’ tall and wide at maturity.

 

NIKKO BLUE - 6-8’ tall and wide at maturity.  Blue or pink blooms depending on ph.

 

PENNY MAC - repeat bloomer, deadhead spent blooms to encourage new blooms.  Blooms pink or blue depending on ph.  5’ tall and wide at maturity.

 

SISTER THERESA - white blooms with pink blush.  Fast growing.  5’-6’ tall and wide at maturity.

 

VARIEGATA - lacecap with dark green leaves marked with cream and light green.  5’ tall and wide at maturity. Blue or pink blooms depending on ph.

 

HYDRANGEA PANICULATA - full sun. Blooms on new wood. Most winter hardy of the                                                                              hydrangeas. Prune late winter - early spring. Tolerates heat and humidity.

 

LIMELIGHT - creamy white flowers mature to chartreuse-lime green to pink to dark rose before fading to beige. Blooms mid-summer to fall. Deadhead for repeat blooms. 6-8’ tall at maturity.- good fall  color

 

 LITTLE LIME- smaller version of limelight- matures at 3-4' tall


OAKLEAF -  scarlet or crimson in fall. Elongated flowers in spring that change to pinkish-    purple as they age. Part shade - will tolerate some morning sun


LACECAP-blooms. Blooms early summer. Color is affected by ph. Slender stems, narrow leaves. Part shade to shade. Deciduous.

               

VANILLA STRAWBERRY-  the individual flowers are white initially, turn pink as summer progresses and finish a deep rose color. Grows to 6-8' tall
